Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Word Cloud Using Copilot And Python In Excel – Episode 2656
Creating a word cloud in Microsoft Excel has never been easier! In this video, I walk you through how to generate a word cloud using the new Copilot – Advanced Analysis feature. With just a few clicks, I transformed 3000 rows of data from the Title column into a visually stunning word cloud. The best part? Excel automatically excludes common stop words like “The,” “A,” and “of” so you can focus on the key terms.
I was amazed at how Excel leverages Python to make this happen behind the scenes. Even though I received a warning about exceeding my Python usage limit, the process continued smoothly, and Excel generated the Python code for me. It even gave me the flexibility to tweak parameters like the width and height of the word cloud—super simple!
Not only can you create a word cloud from titles, but you can also generate one from longer text, such as the Description column in your data. With just a small adjustment in the code, I switched the word cloud to use the description text. The result? Another beautiful word cloud, created in seconds.
In the past, creating word clouds in Excel was a tedious process, often requiring external websites or complex formulas. But now, with Excel’s built-in Advanced Analysis feature, it’s all streamlined. From start to finish, the entire process took less than two minutes, and I couldn’t be more impressed!
